St. James United Methodist Church

Little Rock, AR

St. James is one of our best examples of our master planning capabilities, and the implementation of that plan over an extended period of time. In 1968, RPK prepared a master plan for a small congregation of 27 members on an 8 acre wooded tract in West Little Rock. As the membership grew, and the need for larger and more permanent spaces became apparent, these spaces were phased in according to the master plan. Over the years RPPY has added over 6 phases including 2 kitchens, a music wing, educational facilities, a Family Life Center with a flexible gymnasium and youth facilities, a columbarium, and a contemporary Worship Center. Today the 3,500 member congregation is using over 64,000 sq. ft. of building, which has been completed over the last 40+ years. This accomplishment reveals an important aspect of our design and planning abilities - a unified complex developed over a period of time that maintains consistent architectural aesthetics. It also demonstrates an important characteristic that is a mainstay of RPPY - repeat client satisfaction.
